The existing Sports hostels of Bhubaneshwar, Sundargarh and Rourkela, would become the Regional Development Centers, where the talented children from the grassroot programs and neighborhood regions, will be given admissions. The coaches in these hostels and some other selected coaches from the State, referred by Odisha Hockey Federation, would be trained by Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) experts under the guidance of Bovelander Hockey Academy to deliver better quality training to the children, so that the best of the best can then become part of the NTHA, Odisha.
The government continues to operationalize them and Tata Trust will give expert advice on improving their efficiency. Since these are residential centers of the government, these centers, over the years, can make a huge difference to the quality of hockey players being fed into the State hockey team at the junior levels.
